What does North Atlantic Designs make?
Custom trophies, plaques, and awards, plus gifts for small businesses and their teams and clients. Chris also makes ornaments, cutting boards, and signs in wood, stone, metal, or acrylic, and builds custom marine control panels for boats. Everything is cut and finished by hand in Charleston, South Carolina.
How do I order a custom trophy, plaque, or award?
Fill out the quote request form on the home page. Tell Chris what you are picturing, the material, a rough size, your budget, and when you need it, and attach up to 5 photos or sketches. Chris quotes it himself, usually within 24 hours.
Can you make custom gifts for my small business?
Yes. Gifts for small businesses and their teams and clients are a focus. Include the occasion, how many you need, and the logo or wording you want in your quote request, and Chris will quote it himself.
How long do custom orders take?
Most custom pieces are ready 1 to 2 weeks after materials arrive. North Atlantic Designs does not stock materials, so everything is sourced fresh for your project. Add your need-by date to the quote request and Chris will tell you if it works.
What materials can you work with?
Wood (maple, walnut, cherry, oak, or bamboo), stone, metal, and acrylic. If you are not sure which suits your project, choose "Not sure, help me choose" on the quote form and Chris will recommend one.
Can I get a custom dash panel for my boat?
Yes. Every panel North Atlantic Designs makes is custom cut to your specific boat. You provide your make, model, year, and layout, and the panel is laser cut to your exact measurements. There are no generic one-size panels.
What material are the panels made from?
North Atlantic Designs panels are cut from glossy, flame-polished marine-grade black acrylic, precision laser cut for clean edges and accurate cutouts. Other thicknesses and finishes are available on request.
What boat brands do you make panels for?
Any brand. North Atlantic Designs has made panels for Grady-White, Boston Whaler, Sea Ray, Mako, Pursuit, Robalo, and many others. If you have a boat with a dash, we can build a panel for it.
How long does it take to get my panel?
Under 14 days from approved order to shipped, in most cases. Free local pickup is available in the Charleston, South Carolina area.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. North Atlantic Designs ships anywhere in the United States. Local customers in the Charleston area can pick up for free.
How much does a custom boat dash panel cost?
Pricing is based on size, number of cutouts, and customization. Standard panels start at $195. You get an exact, itemized price before you order, with no surprises.
Can you match or replace my existing panel?
Yes. Send your measurements and a photo of your existing panel, and we cut a replacement to match. Accurate measurements give you the best fit.
Do you engrave labels on the panel?
Yes. We can engrave switch labels, gauge labels, and custom text directly into the panel, with your choice of fill color.
Where is North Atlantic Designs located?
North Atlantic Designs is based on Johns Island in Charleston, South Carolina. Every piece is made in our local shop.
Who makes the work?
Every piece is designed and cut by Chris, the founder of North Atlantic Designs, a lifelong maker who built his own laser cutter. You work directly with the person making your order.
